How much can the file size be reduced?
There is no fixed reduction. Results depend on the source pages and selected render level. An already optimized PDF can become larger, so compare the output with the original.
Does compression reduce quality?
Yes. Every level rasterizes each page and encodes it as JPEG. Low uses the highest render scale and JPEG quality; Medium is intermediate; High uses the lowest settings. None is lossless.
Is the text still selectable after compression?
No. Text becomes part of a page image, so it is no longer selectable or searchable. Links, forms, annotations, and accessibility structure are also not preserved.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no universal supported maximum. Practical capacity and processing time depend on the PDF, browser, device memory, and page dimensions.
